Las Vegas {In 3 Bites}

There’s a saying that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.  And while I might agree to play along in most instances, when it comes to sharing three haute spots for creative, delectable and indulgent cuisine, I must opt out.  It’s widely known that Vegas offers up some of the best dining around, and with so much variety, and a myriad of choices, I want to steer you to three favorites on the Vegas Strip that will leave you wanting (and coming back for) more.

1.  China Poblano

I stumbled upon China Poblano during my (typical) pre-travel research on places to dine.  I was immediately drawn in by the unique concept–as well as the world-renowned chef and owner, Jose Andres.  From once glance at the menu, I knew I was destined for love at first bite.  It was, in fact, my first stop upon arrival, as I took in a late afternoon lunch.  The meal brought together tender, melt-in-your-mouth, steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Lobster Tacos, Twenty-Vegetable Fried Rice (yes, 20!) and a refreshing Agua Fresca to wash it all down.  I indulged in unforgettable flavors that transported me from the far East to the West via my palate.  And the relaxed and casual ambiance (including a take-out window option) delivered the perfect start to my long weekend.

2.  Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill

Cuisine: Sushi and Japanese

Location: The Cosmopolitan

Price Range: $$$

Decadent Oxtail Fried Rice

I landed on the Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill based on a recommendation from a friend.  Sporting a casual-chic vibe, dark interiors, and a menu that can induce salivating upon sight, I enjoyed settling in and allowing the evening to unwind.  Out of all of the enticing dishes at my disposal, it was the Fried Chicken with Wasabi and Honey that had me (almost) licking my fingers! The sweet and spicy contrast of the sauces, paired with the perfectly crispy fried chicken, served as the perfect ying and yang going down.  Another decadent fried rice also made its way to the table here, this time boasting Oxtail, Daikon, Shitake Mushrooms and Bone Marrow.  I only scratched the surface of the delectable menu offerings and look forward to exploring more in future visits.

3.  Jean Philippe Patisserie

Cuisine: Decadent Pastries and Chocolate

Locations:  Aria and Bellagio

Price Range: $

Fountain of (Chocolate) Dreams

Fountain of (Chocolate) Dreams

Jean Philippe Patisserie is the sweet creation of world-renowned pastry chef, Jean Philippe.  And this sweet spot features one amazingly gorgeous and not-to-be missed chocolate fountain.  After watching the white, milk and dark chocolates flow and converge in a beautifully designed manner, my sweet tooth was begging to be fed.  I settled on my favorite–ice cream–and relished every last bite.  Other confections include pastries, candies–and, of course, chocolates!

From savory to sweet and casual to chic, these spots are sure to make your time in Vegas unforgettably delicious!
