Every June thousands of fashionistas, designers, buyers and bloggers flock to Firenze, Italia for 4 days of fashion. Pitti Uomo is the leading menswear trade fair in Italy. During the day, attendees meet within the Fortezza da Basso (which is an old fortress right in the center of the city) to strike deals, make purchase orders and unveil new lines.

Everyone is decked out from head to toe. Even though the temperature climbs as high as 89 degrees farenheit, you will still see men in blazers, long-sleeved shirts, socks and dress shoes. These gentlemen bring their best, and you can’t help but do a doubletake when you see them on the street. Sunglasses, perfect hair, impeccably dressed.

Besides people watching and capturing street style, I also love attending the fair to walk the stands and meet new and emerging designers. During the evening, I hit up runways shows, cocktail parties, and new collection launches, and this year wasn’t any different. From Firenze Magazine to SPACE, there were all sorts of parties in the piazzas. I popped into Meltin’ Pot Denim where the designer and PR toasted with me to introduce their new 2014 line. I was also gifted a new pair of jeans :) . Polimoda Design hosted a runway show in a spacious villa overlooking the Arno. Fashionistas and travelistas, make sure to put Pitti Uomo on your calendar for next year!
